The five-leaf clover song

May 9, 2012

‘FEED ME!!’

Remember the old song, “I’m looking over a four-leaf clover?”

Here’s a post-Fukushima version:

I’m looking over a five-leaf clover
That up from my garden grew!
How did it get there?
An isotope hot
Its DNA altered —
So, likely as not,
Fallout descending
Is neatly rending
Our own chromosomes in two!
I’m looking over a five-leaf clover
That up from my garden grew!

I am espyin’ a dandelion
That grew to enormous size!
From normal proportions
It grew and it grew,
So quickly, I hardly
Believe that it’s true!
Adult and nascent,
The plants adjacent
Are towering to the skies!
I am espyin’ a dandelion
That grew to enormous size!

I am regardin’ an entire garden
That morphed into shapes bizarre!
The flowers are twisted,
Deformed and distort-
Ed past recognition,
And therefore, in short —
It scares me to see ’em,
But I can’t flee ’em,
Since one of them ate my car!
I am regardin’ an entire garden
That morphed into shapes bizarre!
